The 400 was introduced for the 1982 model year, yet was renamed and added to the midsize Dodge 600 lineup just two years later. The 400 was available in two trims - base and LS. Its engines were limited to the standard 2.2 L I4 engine or an optional Mitsubishi-built 2.6 L "Silent Shaft" I4. The convertible came with the 2.6 L engine as standard.
